Saturday Market

Want a taste of the real Antwerp? Then head to the Theaterplein during the weekend. On Saturday, you will find the Exotic Market with local and southern specialities. The centuries-long Antwerp market tradition can be experienced here.
Sunday Market
(Theaterplein)

On the same Theaterplein and the surrounding streets you will find the ‘Vogelenmarkt’ on Sunday. ‘Vogel’ means bird, and every week chickens and birds are sold here. Apart from that, people also offer antiques, flowers and clothes. Just as at the Exotic Market, the centuries-long Antwerp market tradition can be experienced here.

On Sint-Jansvliet, you can spend hours browsing the Sunday antiques market. Complete your trip with a visit to the Left Bank via the authentic pedestrian tunnel.
Auction Market
(Vrijdagmarkt)
→ Friday 09:00 – 13:00h
Vrijdagmarkt is a very cosy square with the Museum Plantin-Moretus and plenty of bars and restaurants. On Fridays, tranquillity gives way to an age-old custom: the auction of furniture and other items from old household effects. Who knows, you might even raise your hand in the air to bid on a beautiful authentic find yourself?
